CHARWOOD GOLFERS ARE GIVING (3) LOCAL CHILDREN A MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thanks to all that have donated money towards helping this family so that these kids will have a Merry Christmas. There ar 3 young children in this family. The youngest is a girl named Mikayla and she is in 5 year old kindergarden; the 2nd oldest is a boy named Zachary, age 6, and he is in 1st grade; and the oldest is a 10 year old boy named Kyle. We will be shopping for them this coming weekend, December 20-21. Anyone wanting to help is more than welcome. If you can make a monetary or gift donation to help this family out, then please do. This is a few items on their list:
Mikayla: Bike, Dollhouse, Coloring Books, Games, Clothes (Shirt: 5 / Pants: 5 / Shoes: 11)

Please join us in welcoming Charwood's new PGA Head Golf Professional, Jim Williams.
Jim is a 1991 graduate of the Ferris State University Professional Golf Management Program. While a student at Ferris, Jim assisted the Physical Education classes with teaching golf. After moving to Hilton Head Island in 1992, Jim became a PGA Golf Professional in April of 1994. Jim’s has taught the game of golf at well-known courses in his career at the Hilton Head Island School of Golf at Shipyard and Port Royal Plantations, Palmetto Dunes Golf Academy, and most recently The Island Golf School. Lessons have included children from age 5 to adults. Jim is currently working with the V1 Digital Coaching System. Since September 2007 and currently, Jim is working with the National Junior Golf Club and is responsible for their golf events throughout South Carolina and is the Tour Director for the Coastal and Columbia Tours.

Strike zone
Remember never to think about hitting the ball but
to think about making a fluid movement through the ball. It is a mistake to think about hitting the ball. This will program your subconscious mind to aim at the ball. This will compromise power and accuracy. It is always better to think of swinging through the ball whether making a high-power shot or not.

Need help shopping for that special golfer? Why not buy him/her a GIFT CARD from Charwood; or a 2009 MEMBERSHIP. We offer gift cards that can be redeemed for merchandise, cart fees / green fees, monthly or yearly dues, and in LC's Grille. If you choose a membership, we will waive the initiation fee up until December 31st, 2008.
MEMBER CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE CLUBHOUSE:
Don't forget about the Member Christmas Party on Thursday, December 18th at 6:30 P.M in the Clubhouse. Bring a covered dish/dessert of your choice and a $10 gift for the Chinese Christmas Exchange Game. The cash bar will be open!

ATTENTION MEMBERS:
Do you have friends, co-workers, or just a good buddy that you would like to bring out with you on the weekends to play golf? Through the end of December, we would like to extend an invitation for you to bring a non-member to play golf any time on Saturday or Sunday for the special price of $25. The Catch is, the guest has to be with a member.
JOIN THE MEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
A Men's Golf Association has been formed by members of Charwood Country Club. They meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be January 13, 2009. Plan to attend and share your ideas. The President is Ron Johnson, Vice-President is Tony Verano, and Tournament Chairman is Evan Schultz. Call the Proshop for more information.
NOT A GOLFER? JOIN AS A SOCIAL MEMBER
You can join Charwood as a social member if you don't play golf. You will have member status and can attend the monthly cookouts and other functions as a member. The Social Member rates are $20/month for a single membership and $35/month for a family.
