Getting Ready for Spring with Golf Lessons? Here in the Midlands we are blessed with mild winters. Still there are those days where it gets cold and wet and you just don't want to go outside to practice or play golf. You may have even put your clubs away for the winter. Unfortunately once you put those clubs up or you don't play regularly, you tend to lose a lot of touch and timing. Once Spring rolls around and you start to get back out on the course, you have to get back in the swing of things. So my question to you is this. Why don't you call Jim for a lesson? You know that you have a number of swing flaws that keep you from playing as well as you would like. It really is the perfect time!One of the best things you can do as a Father, Mother, or Grandparent is to receive the benefits of teaching your son, daughter, grandson, or granddaughter the game you so love...golf. Think of the many years you will have not only playing golf together, but watching them grow to love the game as much as you do...Jim Williams, Charwood's PGA Head Golf Professional, has taught students ranging in age from 5 years old to seniors. Private Lessons are available mornings and in the afternoon *on a space available basis. A 1 hour lesson is $40 or 4 lessons for $140. Corporate Golf League Coming in April
This 2009 golfing season, Charwood will be part of the Carolinas PGA Golf League Championship. We will be hosting many league events throughout the year. Among those you would like to form on your own, we will have a Corporate League and want you and your co-workers to be part of it. Who will be your partner? Start forming your 2-person team today! Play the White Course..By Evan Shultz
As all of you know, Charwood has 27 holes of golf. With this being said, each nine has to be played a little differently. This is just my suggestion on "how to play the white nine".First to consider in playing the White Nine is accuracy. Some Golfers shy away from the White Course because of tight fairways and out-of-bounds on several holes. Distance is not a factor, as all holes are easily reached in regulation. Secondly, the white course is relatively new due to the recent renovations, making the greens firmer. In time, the white nine will be the best among all 3 of the courses. So get ahead of the game and learn to play it now! And lastly, let's not forget about the water hazards that you will have to avoid. You don't have to necessarily go for distance off each T-Box. Focus more on accuracy. On approach shots, don't go for corner pin placement. Hit to the front of the greens and you will end up with more than your share of Birdie Putts.
